Fatigue: How To Beat It

While fatigue is often indicative of an underlying cause, there are a few simple things that we can do to minimise fatigue.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
〰️ consume smaller meals more regularly, and avoid skipping meals in order to stabilise blood sugar levels and prevent energy dips
〰️ ensure you are consuming balanced meals, containing a source of protein, complex carbohydrates & healthy fats
〰️ expose your eyes to sunlight on waking, helping to regulate the sleep/wake cycle and stimulate adequate morning cortisol production
〰️ do not consume coffee on an empty stomach! Consuming coffee before food increases cortisol and insulin levels, affecting our energy throughout the day
〰️ get your thyroid & nutrient levels checked! An underactive thyroid can lead to persistent fatigue, alongside other symptoms
〰️ ensure you are having good quality sleep. Implement a wind down routine, go to bed at the same time every night and avoid screen time before bed
〰️ consider seeing a naturopath as we have tools to prevent fatigue and increase energy, such as B vitamins & adaptogenic herbs
